A 69-year-old Spanish man died on Thursday evening (March 12) after falling from a cliff while paragliding at Bicas beach in Sesimbra. According to the National Maritime Authority (AMN), emergency services were alerted at 18:22. Despite resuscitation attempts by the Sesimbra Lifeboat Station crew, the victim could not be saved and was declared dead at the scene. The recovery operation was complex due to the difficult terrain, requiring the assistance of the Cacilhas Volunteer Firefighters' high-angle rescue team. The body was transported to the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences in Setúbal, and the Maritime Police have seized the paragliding equipment for investigation.
