A British Jet2.com aircraft carrying 141 passengers from the UK made an emergency landing in Faro this Thursday, April 16, due to technical issues, according to Civil Protection sources. The Boeing 737-800, which departed from Bournemouth, UK, bound for Gran Canaria, Spain, reported smoke in the cabin. The aircraft landed safely at Gago Coutinho International Airport at 12:24 PM. Passengers were disembarked for technical inspection. The airport's emergency intervention plan was activated, mobilizing 95 personnel and 41 vehicles, including firefighters, police, and medical services. Separately, a French fighter jet also made an emergency landing at Porto Airport due to a malfunction.
