All legislative and resolution proposals regarding housing rentals discussed in the Assembly of the Republic this Friday were rejected. Despite including diverse measures—ranging from the PCP's proposal to cap rent increases on new contracts to the Iniciativa Liberal's push to end the freeze on old rent contracts—the majority of initiatives failed. The PSD voted against almost all proposals, while other parties also blocked various measures, including those concerning tax incentives for landlords, pet-friendly rental access, and support for cancer patients. Only two resolution projects regarding Renewable Energy Communities were approved.
