Rosalía performs the first concert of the Portuguese leg of the "Lux" tour in Lisbon this Wednesday

Catalan singer Rosalía performs this Wednesday, April 8, in Lisbon, the first of two concerts on the Portuguese leg of her “Lux” album tour, which was recently released and includes a duet with fado singer Carminho. The “Lux” tour includes two concerts in Lisbon, on Wednesday and Thursday at the MEO Arena, as announced by the singer on social media in December. The 18 tracks that make up Rosalía's latest album, “Lux”, were recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Daníel Bjarnason, and feature collaborations with artists such as Carminho, Björk, Estrella Morente, Silvia Pérez Cruz, the Escolania de Montserrat, the Cor de Cambra del Palau de la Música Catalana, Yahritza, and Yves Tumor. Rosalía first performed in Portugal in 2017 at the Theatro Circo in Braga, where she showcased her debut album, “Los Angeles”, with guitarist and producer Raül Refree. At the time, the press praised Rosalía for her new approach to flamenco and classic Spanish song, inspired by the Andalusian Camarón de la Isla. The singer returned to Portugal in 2019 for the Primavera Sound festival in Porto with her new album, “El Mal Querer” (2018), featuring El Guincho on composition and production, which not only deepened the connection between flamenco and pop music but also achieved international recognition, including collaborations with names like Bad Bunny, Arca, J. Balvin, and James Blake. This album, which included tracks like “Malamente” and “Pienso en tu mirá”, also earned her Grammy and Latin Grammy awards. In 2022, she released “Motomami”, a conceptual pop and experimental reggaeton album, described by her label Sony as “expansive, outside the box”, showcasing “a deeply modern musical self-portrait” of the Catalan artist. “Motomami”, presented live in Portugal in 2022 in Lisbon and Braga, earned Rosalía a Grammy for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album. The singer returned to Portugal in 2023 for a concert at Porto Primavera Sound. The “Lux” tour, which began in France with concerts in Lyon and Paris, also includes dates in Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, the United States, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, and Puerto Rico. Rosalía previously interrupted a concert in Milan due to food poisoning. The singer is set to perform in Lisbon in April.
