Marco António Amaro was the eighth defence lawyer for José Sócrates, among four chosen by the defendant and four court-appointed. However, one week after being appointed by the Bar Association, the court-appointed lawyer resigned from the mandate. The reasons are objective: the impossibility of examining the case file within such a short period of ten days.
