The Mafra National Palace is undergoing its first major conservation and restoration project, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The works, which include the library, basilica, and surrounding areas, aim to address structural risks, water infiltration, and the restoration of historic stone surfaces. Despite some delays due to winter weather, the project is on track for completion in July, ahead of the 2030 basilica consecration anniversary. The initiative also includes preparations for the installation of the National Music Museum within the palace grounds.
