Credit institutions in Portugal granted 1.673 billion euros in new housing loans in February, the lowest figure in 12 months, according to data released this Wednesday by the central bank. The Bank of Portugal (BdP) reported that new housing loan contracts fell by 120 million euros compared to January. Renegotiations also decreased to 534 million euros, while consumer loans rose to 597 million euros. New loans to companies increased to 2.332 billion euros, driven by both new contracts and renegotiations.
