A group of doctors from the Braga Local Health Unit (ULS) has anonymously published an open letter denouncing serious issues that they claim compromise the quality of patient care and the dignity of staff. The letter criticizes the ULS Board of Directors, specifically Américo dos Santos Afonso and clinical director Aldara Braga, citing problems such as lost clinical records, scheduling failures following a software transition, and the cancellation of surgeries for oncology patients due to administrative mismanagement. The Northern Doctors' Union (SMN) has confirmed these reports and is seeking urgent meetings to address the situation, warning that they may escalate the matter to the Health Regulatory Authority (IGAS).
