Cold weather brings new record for daily electricity consumption

January has been a month of record daily energy consumption in the national electricity system, with the latest peak reached on the 23rd, according to REN data. Last Friday, the 23rd, a daily consumption of 198.1 GWh (gigawatt-hours) was recorded, a new maximum, REN revealed.
