A major fire resulted in the total destruction of the Mexican gastrobar Carnal, owned by chef Ljubomir Stanisic. In a statement, the 100 Maneiras group, which owns the space located on Rua da Misericórdia in Lisbon, says that the destruction caused by the fire represents a significant material loss, but above all an emotional one. All the works of art created exclusively for that space by Carlito Dalceggio, the 'free mythology' that deeply marked the space, the philosophy, and the concept of the gastrobar, were destroyed by the flames. The group assures that the project will continue and that, while the space is undergoing rehabilitation works, operations will be transferred to the Bistro 100 Maneiras, in Largo da Trindade, nearby. Since its opening in November 2021, Carnal has established itself as a unique project in the Lisbon gastronomic scene, says the 100 Maneiras group, led by Ljubomir Stanisic, Nelson Santos, Nuno Faria, Miguel Ângelo Fernandes, and Manuel Maldonado. The fire at Carnal occurred in the early hours of April 2nd.
