The successive storms that hit the country in February caused 346 total road closures, with 34 situations still to be resolved, according to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing. The ministry, led by Miguel Pinto Luz, stated that 90% of the issues have been resolved one month after the peak of the storms. The Council of Ministers approved an extraordinary budget of 400 million euros for Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) to repair damaged road and rail infrastructure, following over 4,200 recorded incidents.
