The Minister of Infrastructure announced that the government is developing a national intermodal pass, following the success of the green rail pass. With over one million green rail passes sold since October 2024, the government aims to further encourage public transport use. The green rail pass will be available on the Gov.pt app starting in May. To address capacity issues, the government has committed to purchasing 195 new trains for CP, with the first units from Stadler currently undergoing a certification process that may take up to a year.
