The mass layoffs at Block reveal a dark reality of the job market: Artificial Intelligence is “destroying” jobs and “these are not just any jobs” - programmers and consultants are among the most vulnerable professions to be replaced by technology. Almost a third of jobs in Portugal are in “collapse” - but the potential for innovation is such that it is likely that “professions we can't even imagine will emerge”.
