Context & Explainers
The lobbying law is recent Portuguese legislation, approved by Parliament on 12 November and promulgated by the President, that creates transparency rules for meetings, a registry of interest representatives and sanctions for non‑compliance. It aims to make interactions between public officials and lobbyists more visible by requiring recorded declarations and published meeting logs.
