The European Parliament's lead negotiator for the EU-US trade agreement has called for a firm response to the 25% tariffs on cars and trucks. Bernd Lange, chair of the International Trade Committee, rejected Donald Trump's accusations that the EU is violating the trade deal, labelling the US President's behaviour as unreliable and arbitrary. The EU maintains it is fulfilling the agreement and has warned that it has trade defence instruments ready to protect its interests.
