Data from the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Internal Administration – Electoral Administration show a clear divergence between the diaspora and the national outcome in the presidential runoff: André Ventura captured 50.81% of the emigrant vote versus António José Seguro’s 49.19%, yet António José Seguro was elected President of the Republic. The result highlights a distinct voting pattern among Portuguese emigrants, who favoured Ventura, contrasting with the overall electorate that delivered victory to Seguro.
