The Government announced on Friday, April 10, that it will not reduce the current extraordinary ISP (petrol tax) discount, despite the expected drop in diesel and petrol prices next week. The Ministry of Finance stated that the discount will remain, resulting in a total reduction higher than the additional VAT revenue. Consequently, the ISP tax reduction remains at 8.3 cents per litre for road diesel and 4.6 cents per litre for unleaded petrol. Including VAT, the actual discount remains 10.3 cents per litre for diesel and 5.6 cents per litre for petrol. Miranda Sarmento's ministry highlighted that, considering all fuel support measures, the cumulative reduction is 21.6 cents per litre for petrol and 19.9 cents per litre for diesel. Diesel prices are expected to fall by 5.5 cents and petrol by 3 cents next week.
