Galp secures fuel supply contract for the Navy for 16.6 million euros

The Portuguese Navy has signed a direct award contract with Petrogal (Galp) for the supply of operational fuel—enhanced marine diesel and coloured diesel—totalling 16.6 million euros, plus VAT of over 225,000 euros, resulting in a total cost of over 16.8 million euros for the 2026-2028 period. The agreement, published on the Base Portal on 18 March, was established under the Framework Agreement and Article 258 of the Public Contracts Code. According to the contract, the amount allocated for the 2026 financial year is 5.4 million euros, to be covered by the Navy's budget. Similar amounts are expected for 2027 and 2028. This follows other recent contracts won by Petrogal with the Armed Forces, including electricity and natural gas supply for the Army and Air Force. Galp's profit grew by 20% to a record 1.154 billion euros in 2025.
