In 2023, the Agrupamento das Escolas de Marrazes in Leiria implemented a long-desired project: creating a welcome kit for immigrant students. The motivation was the exponential growth in the number of foreign students enrolled in the three schools that make up the grouping. Currently, over 500 of the approximately 2500 students are immigrants, mostly from Brazil. The manual provides accessible information in a playful and educational manner to help children acclimatise and learn more about the dynamics of the city and school. It is translated into nine languages and also in Braille, and has been requested by schools across the country that wish to use it as well. Watch the full report on Radar DN Brasil.
