There has been an improvement in the delivery of telecommunications services: affected municipalities now have connections but still experience interruptions, and normalisation will be a slow process. More than 50% of base stations have been restored, ANACOM says. Operators are keeping permanent teams on the ground.

Context & Explainers
ANACOM is Portugal's national regulator for communications (Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações). It supervises telecoms, internet, radio and postal services, handles consumer complaints and can fine providers; after Storm Kristin it warned fixed-network problems in affected regions may persist until mid‑June. Those with ongoing phone or internet outages should first report them to their provider and can escalate unresolved complaints to ANACOM.
