Hundreds of thousands of customers still without mobile or fixed-line network connections

There has been an improvement in the delivery of telecommunications services: affected municipalities now have connections but still experience interruptions, and normalisation will be a slow process. More than 50% of base stations have been restored, ANACOM says. Operators are keeping permanent teams on the ground.

ANACOM is Portugal's national regulator for communications (Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações). It supervises telecoms, internet, radio and postal services, handles consumer complaints and can fine providers; after Storm Kristin it warned fixed-network problems in affected regions may persist until mid‑June. Those with ongoing phone or internet outages should first report them to their provider and can escalate unresolved complaints to ANACOM.
