The Public Prosecutor's Office charged 24 defendants. The gang sold the stolen cars abroad. Each vehicle was sold for around €3,000.
A 39-year-old driver, without a driving licence, fled when intercepted by the PSP while driving a stolen car. The pursuit ended when the two vehicles collided.
They are suspected of three further vehicle thefts in Cascais, Loures and Sintra.
The suspect was intercepted with several items he had stolen moments earlier.
The driver, fleeing the police, collided with two police vehicles during a frantic flight from the authorities. A 47-year-old man was arrested in Vilar de Andorinho.
