Portuguese Navy conducted 373 monitoring operations of the Russian "ghost fleet" in 2025
Through these monitoring and surveillance operations, the Navy ensures the defence and security of Portuguese waters, contributes to the protection of critical undersea infrastructure in its maritime zones and supports environmental protection, notably in its Exclusive Economic Zone.
