The Vouga line is closed following a train collision in Paramos, in the municipality of Espinho, which involved a heavy goods vehicle, a civil protection source revealed to Lusa today.
Traffic on the Vouga Line resumed at 19:40, about three and a half hours after a train collided with a truck in Paramos, Espinho, a source from Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) told Lusa. The source stated that traffic has resumed even though the truck has not yet been removed from the site, confirming that there was no further damage to that section beyond debris on the tracks. According to a source from the Porto Metropolitan Area Sub-Regional Command, the accident occurred at 16:09. A source from the Espinho Volunteer Fire Department revealed that the truck driver sustained minor injuries in the accident.
The affected section is the one connecting the Olhão station to the remaining towns in the eastern Algarve, such as Fuseta, Tavira, and Vila Real de Santo António, where the line ends.

The PSP is investigating what might have happened.
