Maneco created the telenovela trilogy Vale Tudo (1988), Por Amor (1997) and Laços de Família (2000), and is remembered in Brazilian television history for championing strong female characters.
Manoel Carlos has died aged 92. He wrote several hit telenovelas for TV Globo, including “Páginas da Vida” (Pages of Life), “Mulheres Apaixonadas” (Women in Love) and “Laços de Família” (Family Ties).
