Telecare protection, known as the 'panic button', is provided to victims by decision of the Public Prosecutor's Office or a court and should be activated in case of danger or if the aggressor approaches.

Around 6,200 victims of domestic violence are currently using telecare, known as a 'panic button', the Directorate-General for Reintegration and Prison Services (DGRSP) said; it will take full responsibility for the system in 2026.
