In 2025 and in January 2006, the IPMA recorded around a dozen major storms. In just two weeks, the recorded rainfall led to an increase of almost 800 hm³ (cubic hectometres) in the reservoirs.

Of the 60 reservoirs monitored, 35 have water volumes exceeding 80% of their total capacity and three have volumes below 40%.

The region's six reservoirs are at an average of 77% of maximum capacity. Funcho (84%) is sending water to the Arade reservoir (59%). Controlled releases will soon be made at Odeleite (83%) and Odelouca (80%).
