The victim allegedly ignored the barriers and the sound and light signals at the automatic level crossing in Aborim, Barcelos. The GNR is investigating the case.

Traffic on the Vouga Line resumed at 19:40, about three and a half hours after a train collided with a truck in Paramos, Espinho, a source from Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) told Lusa. The source stated that traffic has resumed even though the truck has not yet been removed from the site, confirming that there was no further damage to that section beyond debris on the tracks. According to a source from the Porto Metropolitan Area Sub-Regional Command, the accident occurred at 16:09. A source from the Espinho Volunteer Fire Department revealed that the truck driver sustained minor injuries in the accident.
