Train services restricted between São Pedro do Estoril and Cascais for modernisation works
Train services on the Cascais Line will be restricted between São Pedro do Estoril and Cascais on 29 March and 12 April due to modernisation works, Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) announced today. In a joint statement, IP and CP – Comboios de Portugal stated that the intervention is part of the project to modernise the track and catenary of the Cascais Line, aiming to enhance safety, operational efficiency, and the quality of public transport in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. Due to the complexity and duration of the work, which is incompatible with regular rail traffic, a partial closure of this section is necessary on 29 March and 12 April. On both days, the closure will affect the southbound track between Cascais and São Pedro do Estoril from 08:20 to 20:15. During these periods, train schedules will be adjusted, with the closures scheduled for weekends to minimise the impact on passenger mobility.
