An extraordinary plan adding 100 more fire service vehicles to pre-hospital medical emergency duties was signed during the previous flu season, but it was not renewed. “The League has been proactive and we warned the Minister of Health and the chief executive of the National Health Service several times. Nothing was done,” criticises the head of the national fire brigades, António Nunes.
