“They came to me and said ‘I went to drama school because I saw you on stage, I had never seen a Black actress before’"
From a young age, Rita Cruz dreamed of and announced her own future: “I am going to be an actress.” This certainty, she recounts in this conversation on “O Tal Podcast”, grew stronger as she got older, through the “little sketches” she performed at school. “It was stronger than me, that need to put creativity into practice.” Today, aware of the importance of everyone feeling represented in fiction, she argues that the “lack of representation closes off the possibility of dreaming.”
