PSP officer stabbed inside police station

The Public Security Police (PSP) arrested a 19-year-old man this Friday, April 17, on suspicion of the attempted murder of a PSP officer at the Marrazes police station in Leiria. The incident occurred around 11:05 am, when the suspect used a bladed weapon to strike a 57-year-old officer multiple times, including in the neck area. Emergency services were immediately called, and the officer was treated on-site before being transported to Leiria Hospital, where he remains under clinical observation. The suspect fled the scene but was quickly located and arrested by PSP officers. The motives behind the attack are currently under investigation by the Judiciary Police.
