Norberto Mourão wins European title in Montemor-o-Velho and makes history in Portuguese paracanoeing
Norberto Mourão wrote a golden page in Portuguese sport this Sunday by winning the European title in the VL2 200-meter adaptive class at the European Canoe Championships in Montemor-o-Velho. Before the home crowd, the Portuguese athlete dominated the race, crossing the finish line in 52.242 seconds and setting a new European record. This victory marks his third consecutive European championship title in the discipline. The final was highly competitive, with Spaniard Higinio Rivero finishing second and Roman Serebriakov taking third. At 45, Mourão reinforces his status as a paracanoeing legend, bouncing back from a recent World Cup performance in Germany. Additionally, Fernando Pimenta secured a bronze medal at the same championships.
