Cotrim beat Mendes in 161 municipalities, Melo in 149, Seguro in 298 and Ventura in 297: the dispersion of the AD vote

The candidate backed by the PSD and CDS finished 5th or 6th in 131 municipalities. Seguro captured 160 municipalities that had been held by the AD, Ventura took 52. In Madeira, where the coalition had swept everything, Marques Mendes did not win in any.
