According to the organisation responsible for managing and operating the system, the route is clear and 'the safety conditions to restart the service' have been met.

The Metro Mondego network in Coimbra is gradually resuming services, with operations being restored in phases after a temporary suspension.

Operations of the Metro Mondego have been suspended in the Coimbra district, affecting the municipalities of Coimbra, Lousã and Miranda do Corvo.

The Government will grant Metro Mondego financial compensation of €28.4 million up to 2029 for passenger transport and is open to renewing the support from that date to ensure the economic and financial sustainability of the operation.

The last journey from Portagem station to Serpins will be at 23:00, and the last journey to Lousã at 23:30.
