Immigrants create a Brazilian music choir at Fábrica Braço de Prata
Transforming music into a welcoming environment, a support network, and a learning experience: this is the Travessia Choir, founded by two Brazilian immigrants living in Portugal. Every Monday, Madu and Heber Novais teach singing in a sonic journey across the Atlantic at the Fábrica Braço de Prata. The project is open to all nationalities and focuses on the diverse rhythms of Northeastern Brazil. Classes last 90 minutes, and while there is a monthly fee of 50 euros, participation is free for those in situations of social vulnerability.
