The President of the Assembly of the Republic has requested that the Transparency Committee open an inquiry into statements made by Socialist MP Isabel Moreira during a debate on gender change legislation, following a complaint from the PSD parliamentary leader. José Pedro Aguiar-Branco stated that the remarks, which linked the legislative proposals of the PSD, Chega, and CDS-PP to the 'ratification of the murder of Gisberta', may exceed the bounds of vigorous political criticism and potentially violate the duties of respect, urbanity, and institutional loyalty required of members of parliament.
