The Public Prosecutors' Magistrates' Union warns of “critical situations” in the Lisbon North and West judicial districts. A backlog of cases and a shortage of staff are causing alarm.
Of the 215 places announced by the Ministry of Justice, 89 will be allocated to the magistracy of the Public Prosecutor's Office. The Public Prosecutors' Union considers at least 120 places necessary.
