The history of television began 100 years ago. Look back at the most remarkable moments of the past century
26 January 1926. In a laboratory in Soho, London, electrical engineer John Logie Baird gave the first public demonstration of television to a small number of members of the Royal Institution. The first images were of a ventriloquist’s dummy called Stooky Bill, and from there television went on to evolve.
