Over eight days of road-safety operations covering the Christmas and New Year period, 12 people were killed on the roads and 453 drivers were detained for drink-driving.
Seven people died and 240 drivers were detained during the Christmas and New Year operation between 18 and 23 December, the National Republican Guard (GNR) said today.
The country’s main roads have more GNR patrols. The enforcement operations are in place until 4 January.
