Twelve people died and 433 people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol between 18 and 24 December, as part of the Christmas and New Year operation.

Operations by the GNR and PSP, which run until 4 January and have two phases: Christmas, from 18 to 26 December, and New Year, from 27 December to 4 January.
