Two GNR officers accused of extorting immigrants with fabricated fines — one went hungry to be able to pay

The Public Prosecutor's Office has charged two GNR officers from Tavira with dozens of crimes, including abuse of power, embezzlement and demanding money from South Asian immigrants using invented pretexts or inflated amounts. Both men are under house arrest and the investigation was carried out by the GNR itself.
