Why do the Portuguese not identify with such a long list of presidential candidates? Miguel Morgado offers a suggestion: “This is the first time we have elections with a new generation that did not experience 25 April, nor the democratic consolidation.” The commentator points to a “particular personal authority” of an older generation, whose last champion was Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
