The narrative and formal movement of Kill Bill makes more sense as a single film, in Portuguese cinemas this week. And the Bride remains the role of a lifetime for Uma Thurman.

In the spirit of the Oscars, a special screening of short films by Kleber Mendonça Filho takes place this week in Lisbon. The Casa da América Latina will host the event on Thursday, March 12, at 7 pm. Two works by the Pernambuco-born director, set in Recife, will be presented: the drama Eletrodoméstica (Brazil, 2005, 22') and the documentary Copa do Mundo no Recife (Brazil, 2014, 15'). Following the screening, there will be a discussion panel with actress and director Joana de Verona and artist and poet Diego Garcez. Admission is free, subject to venue capacity.
Filmmaker Rodrigo Resende Coutinho is once again showing the feature film Na Minha Terra, Carnaval é Religião in Lisbon and, for the first time, in Porto.
