Government speaks of "migratory pressure" and contests distribution of refugees to Portugal

The Government argues that Portugal is under migratory pressure and refuses to commit to hosting refugees under the European solidarity mechanism. This week, there was a European agreement to distribute 21,000 asylum seekers. Portugal voted against it and now wants to negotiate an exception with the Commission.
