Between 18 and 25 December, the PSP recorded 1,329 accidents, resulting in three deaths and 408 injuries, while the GNR recorded 1,844 accidents, resulting in nine deaths and 496 injuries.

The main offences recorded were speeding, drink-driving, lack of vehicle inspection and lack of car insurance. The special road enforcement operation ends at the start of the year.

Detentions were carried out over the past four days. This amounts to an average of 76 drivers per day. Since 18 December, 96 people have been detained for not having a driving licence.

A total of 304 people have been detained since 18 December.
