Meta announces agreement with media outlets to integrate news into Meta AI in Europe
Meta has announced a partnership with several international media outlets, including the Spanish group Prisa, to include news and content in its Meta AI assistant in Europe. The company, which owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, aims to expand the range of content available on applications and devices featuring Meta AI with news, reports, and entertainment. The collaboration includes media groups such as Prisa, News Corp, Le Figaro, and Süddeutsche Zeitung, with Meta stating that more outlets will join to explore new features. The initiative seeks to improve Meta AI's ability to provide up-to-date information while offering media outlets a new way to increase traffic. When users search for news, the assistant will provide information and links from partner outlets based on relevance and user interests. Meta also recently filed a complaint regarding deepfake fraud in Brazil and China.
