The CTT tariff update ‘once again penalises the print press, with increases above inflation,’ warns the Portuguese Press Association.

Portugal's postal operator CTT has raised its prices today by an average of 6.20%. A trade association warns the increases will impact the press, likely raising distribution costs for newspapers and magazines.

The network is accused of falsifying air travel bookings and improperly obtaining the Social Mobility Allowance from CTT (the Portuguese postal service).

CTT’s leader says António Costa’s government “applied an excessive remedy” when it replaced Series E.

Access to the social mobility allowance will continue to be available at CTT post offices 'until all the features of the announced electronic platform are fully available', the Government says.
