Private operators on suburban lines and CP to operate high-speed services
The government has asked CP (the national rail operator) for proposals to sub-concession the Sintra–Azambuja, Cascais, Sado and Porto suburban lines to private operators. The government says it will not strip CP of its responsibilities and that CP will be the high-speed operator.
