These three districts return to an orange warning between 03:00 and 18:00 on Saturday, according to the institute.

Persistent rain is expected all week. Ten districts are under an orange warning for heavy precipitation and coastal swell, increasing the risk of flooding and hazardous marine conditions.

The IPMA also issued several snow warnings for the districts of Guarda and Castelo Branco, warning of possible disruption from accumulating snowfall and potential ice formation.

Yellow precipitation alerts are also in effect for Évora, Santarém, Lisbon, Leiria, Coimbra and Portalegre.

The seven affected districts are Porto, Viana do Castelo, Lisbon, Leiria, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga. Coimbra and Braga will have the orange warning in effect until 12:00. Other districts are under a yellow warning.

Fifteen districts in mainland Portugal are under a yellow weather warning because of expected snowfall inland and increased wave swell along the coast, which may affect travel and maritime conditions.
