Portugal now has a National Coastal Rowing Training Centre
The National Coastal Rowing Team Training Centre has been officially inaugurated in Figueira da Foz, marking a new chapter for the sport in Portugal as it prepares for its Olympic debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Games. The centre, which aims to support the sport's rapid growth, will also host the 2027 World Championships, serving as an Olympic qualifier. The facility includes new competition boats and equipment, and the location was chosen for its strategic proximity to key sporting hubs and the existing infrastructure of the Naval Rowing Sports Association. International interest is already high, with several national teams choosing Portugal for training camps.
